I am Amira was a daily story telling experiment. It was a FICTIONAL Facebook diary by Amira, a 13 year old girl from Aleppo, Syria in the latter part of 2015. The account was informed by comments provided by the community and information found on the web. As such “I am Amira” was a facebook storytelling experiment that aimed to use the internet to create positive outcomes. The story and all the newspaper and video resources were posted on the Times Educational Resources (TES) site for teachers to use freely to educate about the refugee situation.

The Educational Resources are no longer available on Times Educational Resources site.
However they were very popular – 5675 downloads by teachers! One drama group even used the story as their GCSE drama production!
